blocks and driveshaft?

Post by boots »

could putting blocks around 4" at the back of your truck make you get a longer drive shaft?

What are your plans for the use of the truck after you get it lifted?

I just got to thinking you have a 2x with a two peice drive line. You might run into length problems on the shaft the runs from the carrier bearing to the 3rd member. I believe that shaft is fixed.

You might want to gather some more opinions from some of the other users here before going to far.

after i lift it, i plan to go in the sand with it, thats about as far as im going with it for now, and just normal driving...well yea... it is a 2 peice drive shaft.. ive put some effort into my front , and lifting it and all, im only planning to put 4"-5" blocks at the back. So does anyone think ill run into the problem of getting a drive shaft length problem?

got an update for ya guys.. i went ahead and took off the u-bolts on the left side of my truck. didnt have time for the right side today, and i placed a jack under the left side leaf spring, and lifted the whole spring without the axel attached, jacked it up around 4" and it looks like ill get by with 4" blocks.
