Help! I need to know what I have!

Post by BigCountry1984 »

So, after decoding the door, I have a 1967 f-350 dually camper special (without the camper part...just a flatbed) with the 352 windsor engine. Only problem is I cannot find ANY information on this beast. If anyone has any knowledge of the old 1 tons I would appreciate anything you can tell me about my baby. If you need better pictures, let me know and i will snap a photo of what you need to see. thanx.

Sorry, should have worded my question different. I've used the vin decoder and gotten all the details, what I'm wanting to know is, was this a common model that there simply are no more of, or was she uncommon then too? I can only ever find reference to a 3/4 ton camper special, and none are quite like what I have. I'm wondering if many companies/people did modifications or upgrades that are not mentioned alot, as well as what kind of value these creatures have. She came from an old couple up by the WY/CO border where she sat in a barn and was only driven on vacation (37,000 mi original). the camper back end was trash, so it got pulled off and is now a cab-chassis awaiting my lazy butt to finish a flatbed and install a rear window. I apologize if I'm asking the wrong thing in the wrong forum, but I'm just about to plan out paint and some other work and really want to know if this is a girl that is worth dressing up to take to all the balls, or just another old truck thats only worth as much as the sentiment put into her.

I'm not sure how many were built in 1967. But it's not an uncommon model
being as it's in the 1968 brochure. Most were probably used as flat and stake bed
hauling trucks vs campers. But it was the frame to go with if you had a big
monster camper to haul. It seems that in 68, they only came with V8's
standard. No 300's which was the base engine for a F250 CS.
Also, being a camper special is more about the camper related stuff
than it is weight carrying ability. Some camper specials are rated less
than my plain jane F-250.. Mine is a 7500 lb version which is the highest
for the F-250. But mine is not a CS, which means it didn't have those extra
options that came with the CS.

I think what you have and what its worth is determined more by your bond with the truck. My truck is VERY common, lwb 1969 F100 360 v8. Very common, but its special to me. I have bonded with it since I rescued it out of being stored in a barn. I love my truck and its NOT FOR SALE. Its nothing fancy, power nothing but its special to me, I know its life and its story and when I bought it I promised the elderly couple that sold it to me I would take care of it and I intend to. It serves me very well for light weekend jobs. Its something special to me.
1969 F100. All factory 360, 4-speed, candy apple red one owner. Incredible truck!

as well as what kind of value these creatures have.
I considered mine valuable enough to do this to it:

Our DRW trucks are the cat's meow IMO, you can do so...much with them!

thanx NM5K, thats pretty much what I was looking for.

And for everyone thats upset about me having to sell her, I don't want to, but a roof over my head is more important than my baby sittin under it. And if I'm having to sell her, I'm going to do it before I drive her too much and fall in love. I have my 91 that did that to me...and my 02.

Not sure if it matters to you but a 352 is not a Windsor, its an FE. :2cents:
