Within the last 2 weeks I made a new backboard for my 70 F350. For you scavengers, like me, you will be pleased to know that the 2x8 I used I dug out of a dumpster at a houise that was being renovated. It fit almost perfect, being about 1 inch too short!

Here is a pic with the old board I used the last year, which I made quickly and cheaply.

Here is the new board I made from the scrap (reclaimed) 2x8.

Here is a pic after I took it down into my basement shop and painted it during these cold PA days.

I even drilled a hole into the center post so I could use the lever to hold the post in the pocket as Ford had designed it!

Replaced the plastic thing holding my rear license plate on with a metal bracket. The plastic piece found it's destiny in the trash can.

Now that the motor is running/ idling good, need to hook up a muffler and exhaust. Looking at the Dynomax ultra flo X. it has an x pipe in the muffler itself so I don't need to make one. Its kind of new so I don't see too many reviews.

Moved it so I can get the wife's van onto the concrete. Need to replace the water pump and lower hose on the van. It's supposed to be in the upper 60's today, so it should be a nice day to work on it.

Just got back driving my truck from San Diego to Borrego Springs, over to Yuma, AZ and up to Ferguson Lake on the Colorado River. Then returned the same way. Needed to get some catfishing done with my Dad for a few days :D It was 480 miles round trip, with 20 of that being a dirt road. My truck was full of camping/fishing gear and was pulling my boat. It's done it twice with no problems. This is what I got this truck for.

Pulled the 460 out and put new freeze plugs in it. New battery, new starter and new cables while I was at it. Replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets and put in new donuts. Put it all back in, good days work. Wish I had enough money for a new converter while I had it out, stock one sucks.

Ready for spring if it ever gets here......

Stripped the Dana 60, removed all the bearings and races, and cleaned the housing in prep of an overhaul. All I have to remove is the ring gear bolts as I am going to upgrade from a Factory locker to a Detroit Locker. I just have to get a helper or figure out how to hold the differential in order to break the bolts free!
