Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Sorted out he E-Street EFI by downloading the latest software and got the tablet matched up to the ECU so they could communicate. 'Stepped through the set up procedures and the old girl lit off immediately. Warmed her up and calibrated the idle at 700 RPM and set the IAC.
She idles soooooo smooth and silky like a kitten and roars like a lion through the Flowmasters. Wow....
20 inches of vacuum, 195 on the water temp, 14.2 volts on the battery charge, and 13.2 on the A/F mixture. I'm diggin' it.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Finally added delay wipers. FANTASTIC, now the upper bearing on the column is going out. I need to look for more time so I can fix some other little things, like replacing the interior light bezel and painting the instrument bezel. Anyone found a cheap source for extra time
?

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Well, after having paid for a paintjob and waiting over five years for the guy to finish, I decided to cut bait, bring it back to my shop and get busy. It's a '71 Sport Custom I got eight or nine years ago from the original owner, dented here and there, but little in the way of cancer (the usual suspects, lower doors and bottom rear front fender). It's white above the bump and medium blue below. New paint will be 2010 color single stage (oxford white over grabber blue). So far, only the hood has been painted, since this project gets put on hold for paying customers.
I bought an entire '72 F250 CS for the bed and ended up with an Explorer 4 package, so I took off all the factory goodies (including a 390 out of a mid 60's car, which has been rebuilt with a little more cam and some other little upgrades to improve oiling and longevity). The original plan was to install all the good stuff, PS,PB,A/C, Auto, but I decided to keep it simple and just stick the 390 in there and enjoy it.
I am considering filling the dash and painting it white, but I have had good results with the dash covers from LMC for the blue pad that only has a single crack. I am still looking for a pair of steel door panels (got outbid on Ebay-you know who you are:) because I really liked the look of the ones I had on the '67. Seat is out of a 1993 1 ton that will be re-covered in vinyl with plaid inserts the way Ford intended.
All the rocker trim is being left off, as well as the wheel arch mouldings and the bed call outs, so the only bling will be the bump trims and the windshield moulding. Currently planning on white wheels with poverty caps, though my nephew's '77 (google NWA Streetworks..we painted that for him) has some nice rocket 20's that look pretty nice. Should be some pics at acmecollision.net. We are also on FB at Acme Automotive. Recent projects have included a '69 Ranger and a '72 Bronco (both customer cars), a 67 Ranger, and a couple of Jeeps. I don't know how these people keep finding us, but they do, and I hope they keep it up
Thanks everyone here for all the help over the years, and don't forget the tip jar. If anyone needs bad advice, I'm your man.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Tied up a few loose ends (and loose PS fittings!), hooked up the Mark VIII fans' ground to the battery, installed a couple of more grounds, and fired up the ol' girl so I can hear her breathing through her Sanderson headers, 20-inch Magnaflows. and 2.5-inch mandrel bent tubing.
The video's sound quality doesn't do it justice... she's got a nice burble at idle and grumbles when revved.
Oh, she's on Edelbrock's E-Street EFI so that's the digital tuning screen shown below.
EDIT.. Bummer! 'looks like Fordification's "upgrade" doesn't allow videos. Oh well.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
Went back to points and the resistor wire. Now I have the petronix 1, and the petronix 2 laying around the shop for someone else to put to use or me to go back to one day.
Guess I just like changing things and dinking around.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
i pulled a bench seat from a 96 ford for the f100. scored another bed side fuel neck and 3 steel wheels. so now I have 4 spare tires and 2 fuel necks to install on the side of the bed. scored some windshield trim at the junkyard. also got a spare tire carrier that I'm adapting to go beneath the bed of the f100. got a air duct hose for the dash on the f250. completely stripped out the f250 interior. defunked the vehicle. defunked the dash. repaired all the chewed up wiring and hoses in the dash. now in the process of assembling the f250 with custom interior. installed shocks on the f100. also just put in new front hoses. the custom ones I had were steel braided but too short. so put some longer ones up front. stops on a dime.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
got my brakes lined out. Had to take out the distribution block again and re-center the piston (got lazy and bled brakes without the little special machine screw in to keep piston centered). Changed coil which fixed my hard start when warm problem.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
I rented a auto transport from UHAUL, hooked it up to my 69 highboy, and towed the '31 Model A about 110 miles to my son's house. The Model A was my Grandfather's. My grandfather got the Model A after his Model A pickup was rear ended by a drunk driver Halloween night 1957. My Dad found a Model A Coupe for sale for $50. My Dad, Uncle, and grandfather fixed up the newly purchase Model A from parts my Grand Father had stashed away and from the pickup. My grandfather drove the "new" Model A until his death in 1970. My father had it until recently. My father wanted it to go to my son. Dad (95 years young) can no longer get in and out of the car.
Didn't even notice I was towing anything behind me. I did notice it took a little more pedal pressure to stop though. The old drum brakes work pretty good but if I did a lot of towing I would swap in front discs.
My dad taught my son to drive the Model A before my son was old enough for a learner's permit. The car means a lot to me and I am thrilled my son has an interest in it. Besides it makes room for my dad's 68 fastback mustang in my garage.
I told my wife we need a smaller house and a bigger garage but that argument did not go far.

I Finally got my Steering Hooked up. Between shortening the column and doing a power steering conversion this was one of the most difficult things I've done so far.
