Yesterday I put a mirror on the passenger door, today I put the cover on him and put him to bed for the winter.
I hope spring comes early!

Not so much what Idid to my truck today but what I got for it. on Sat. I picked up a running 390 complete from carb to tranny. It has a Holley carb and a 390 streetmaster edelbrock intake. I started pulling it apart on Sat afternoon. When I got the intake off and took out the oil vail plate I found a broken rod. Apperently at some point this engine braoke a rod and had a new one put in but the old one was left in the oil valley.I am going to rebuild this 390 while leaving the 360 in the truck and them swap them out when I am all done. I donr know if I am going to use the C6 or not. I currently have the NP435. Have toyed with the idea of having an automatic but am unsure if I want to do it. Any ideas? Pros/cons of going automatic over the stock 4 speed?

Painted the rear drums with dark Ford blue engine paint. Hope to get the rear brakes rebuilt next spring.

bucket seats out 87 xlt lariat bench in
my tilt column is out of a 78 bronco & i needed a ragjoint to fit it
turns out 78-79 tilt columns are different from everything else...and the ragjoints are obsolete..so after figuring out the spline count (harder to do with the flat spot on the shaft) i'm ordering a u joint and calling it good nuff

FYI: 78-79 Tilt column - 3/4" shaft,36 splines
ford steering box - same
u joint should be 2-1/2 - 3" long overall
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

Lately, I've been getting back into my truck. Today, I flushed all the old transmission fluid out and topped it off with new. I can't say that it had been changed before. No leaks and it is shifting proper :D

I noticed that my passengers were not opening the doors on my truck with as much care as I would and are chipping the new paint. Quick and easy Solution: I cut one of those cheap plastic report binders in half and slipped them over the edges on the doors. I wasn't smart enough to take pictures but can if anyone is interested :D

I married the woman who thought it was a great idea to buy our 1970 F-250 and fix it up. :woohoo:
