Steering Box Seal
Anyone have any ideas on how to replace and where to find the large black seal on the backside of this steering box?
I've looked around with no luck, so any help would be appreciated.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

That's the manual box from a 4x4? I just yanked out my box today. You might want to give Straight Line a call at (408) 289-9850 located in San Jose, CA. No guarantees, just a lead. They rebuilt a 78 4x4 steering box for me.

Yes that is a manul steering box from a '69 4x4, and I agree it is pretty scary looking. Thanks for the lead on the rebuild place. Do they happen to sell a rebuild kit for these, or do they have to be rebuilt by a shop?

Not sure if this will help, but it looks like a lot of years will fit if you just want swap a whole box out.
It that the coupler piece or the seal in the box itself?

It's the large black seal shown in this picture, at the end of the steering shaft. I'll check out the car parts search and see if it turns up anything, and I plan to call Straight Line also. I still haven't been able to find a new or rebuilt replacement anywhere.
