Camper shell fit - what years would fit? '69 lwb

Post by alvald83 »

I am looking for a used camper shell and their are alot to choose from. Any ideas what years camper shells might look like a good fit. I've seen a few campers on these trucks that fit but don't like they really belong there. I'm looking for something that looks like a natural fit. What year trucks should i be looking at?

Should be fairly easy to size being a standard 8 foot bed.
What does look kind of funny is the new modern shells on a old
truck.. :/ Looks kinda weird in some cases. Most modern shells
are made to almost match the body lines of the trucks they
are built for.
What was tricky was finding a shell for my utility bed which is
an oddball 7 ft long.. I ended up using a shell that came off a
wrecked Dodge Dakota.. Which is actually a smallish mid size
truck.. My shell is narrower than the truck, but was wide enough
to fit on top of the utility bed with enough room to leave shelves
along the window ledges.

I have had 2 on my truck over the years and to me the tilt of the back of the cab is the most important in looks. Some shells are straight in the front and they don't look right. Also both of my shells were petty old so they kind of matched the look of the truck.
