What all replacements parts have you had to piant?

Post by rjewkes »

Before installing, and how manyu did you know for sure?

My water pump that was brand new 2 months ago looked and felt like it was semi polished, now it is rusted on the outside. Also a year ago i put in a new Brake booster, and it is heavily crusted again it looked like it was painted a flat black.

How many parts need painted before install? and where is this info? they don't say anything on the install instructions.

Good question. I had figured that my new wheel-cylinders were coated in some form of rust protection just judging them against newer calipers that look the same way, well they weren't and now next time it gets a brake job, or whenever I get the chance to they've got to get pulled and painted . Really doesn't look good having rusty wheel-cylinders next to a freshly painted backing plate.

Short answer is this. If it looks unpainted it probably is. New and reman parts are usually just the base metal with a protective film on them to keep out moisture during shipping and storage.

8), I might just buy that to paint my drums and then use what's left for my wheel cylinders.
