Re: Where to find truck listings?
Hmmm...well, I think that would be a little overkill for a daily driver. Plus a low-mileage original or mildly restored crewcab goes for about double what SuperCab can be picked up for. But hey...if I run across a crewcab with low miles and within my price range, I might consider it.

Yep, that's pretty much what I'm looking for...except preferably a whole lot closer! But thanks for the link.

Re: Where to find truck listings?
I'm actually headed out on a roadtrip tomorrow...going to attend my daughter's nursing school graduation ceremonies at the other end of the state, and will be gone all weekend. I did run across one Craiglist listing for a '78 F150 Lariat Trailering Special std. cab pickup with a factory 460/C6 setup and limited-slip, which the seller says has only 9100 original miles, with tilt and A/C. Since we'll be passing right through his location on the way, I called and made an appointment to check it out. Here are the pics in the listing:

He says the paint is glossy, just dirty in these pics, and that there's only a tiny bit of rust inside the bed. I figured that since I was passing through, I'd look it over.

Re: Where to find truck listings?
Good evening Keith!
I like the black paint and red interior! Has it been converted to a non-gasoline fuel type, or is the tank in the bed for something else?
If the truck genuinely has 9,100 miles, that's quite a find I'd imagine.

Re: Where to find truck listings?
The asking price for this one is $4450. If the miles and condition are as described, then it's a pretty good deal.quantumleap wrote:$$$$$? id like to see that one all shined up

Re: Where to find truck listings?
Well, unfortunately the "9100 original miles" turned out to be 109,100 miles...and rusted all to heck.
It WAS a propane setup, but had been removed by the time I got there, and they spent 20 minutes just trying to get the engine fired up. Once it finally did, I could hear a loud exhaust leak at the manifold. On a good day it might have been a $1000 truck. I passed on it.
On my road trip I DID run across a nice original '94 Harley FLT police edition, an old sheriff's bike....I was (kinda) hoping my wife would put her foot down and say no, and to keep the peace I'd 'give in', but she surprised me when she said she'd be fine with it.
I'd better hurry up and find a good dentside before I give in to the temptation!
